South East Portland's Alameda Brewing is located on NE Fremont St, in the heart of Beaumont Village. Their new state-of-the-art brewing facility is stocked with equipment sourced almost entirely from local manufacturers and boasts up to a 20-barrel capacity. Established in 1996, Alameda Brewing has won multiple Great American Beer Festival awards, including: Gold Medals in both 2003 and 2005 for their best know beer, Black Bear XX Stout. In 2006 and 2008 Black Bear XX Stout won Silver in the Best Foreign-Style Stout category. Head brewer Carston Haney has overseen the crafting of the hoppy Yellow Wolf Imperial IPA, black as night Black Bear XX, the new El Torero IPA, and Klickitat Pale Ale.
